Mervat Hussein hosts the sports program “Searching for a Goal” on Blue Nile TV. She was the first woman elected to the Sudanese Football Association’s board and executive office, founded women’s football activity in Sudan, and launched its first women’s league in 2019.
She established Sudan’s first women’s national team, which competed in the Arab Cup and Africa Cup of Nations. She sits on the Arab Football Federation’s Women’s Committee,
is an accredited CAF/FIFA match observer, and has served as Vice-President of the Women’s Sports Federation and the Sudanese Federation for Sport for All.
